About Me

Me Pic extra smile nyc_edited.jpg

I've tutored dozens of students for hundreds of hours, helping people of all ages and backgrounds achieve their academic goals.

I graduated in 2020 from UCSB as a Regents Scholar, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.

I then worked two years as a Process Engineer at Fluor,  a construction engineering firm, in their Energy and Chemicals department.

For the last couple years I've been traveling the world, exploring parts of Southeast Asia, a lot of Europe, and much of the the U.S.

I'm currently taking Data Science courses and working on a few analytics projects of my own because I want to learn how to transform data into meaningful insights that can help solve important problems.

I've worked as a Sports Camp Counselor at Decathlon Sports Club of Los Altos for many years, which has given me tons of experience working with kids.

Testimonials

“Miles helped both our sons as a high school advanced math tutor and it made all the difference for their ability to really comprehend and solve complex problems. Miles is extremely communicative, and has the rare blend of patience and accountability to ensure students progress on their own. Highly, highly recommend him!”

Renee Kaplan, Los Altos

“My daughter was taking an online college level algebra 2 math course. It was different from the traditional algebra 2 curriculum. He was able to familiarize himself with the coursework. Then he assessed where my daughter's deficits were in math and adjusted his teaching style to meet her needs and get her through the course successfully. Miles has a calm, flexible and patient approach with his students. I highly recommend him for tutoring any subject.”

Luke Faubion, Sunnyvale

“Before Miles had even graduated from high school, I began referring some of my math tutoring students to him because I had more than I could fit into my schedule. At the time, he was a senior at Wilcox High School and in his second year of AP calculus there. His math skills were top notch, but more importantly, his interpersonal and communication skills were what made him stand out. Students and parents alike felt comfortable with him. He adjusted to the needs of the students and enabled them to gain confidence and learn the material. Now that he is even older and wiser, I'm sure he is even better. :-) I highly recommend him.”
